Are you truly grateful for what you have? 1st of the month reality check…..

I am so grateful for my family!

I am so grateful for my family!

Hi Everyone

It is first of the month “Reality Check” time…..If you a new to my blog..on the first of every month I will put up a post that reminds us how grateful and lucky we are.  In our hectic world we seem to forget, all too often, how precious our lives are and what is truly important to us…so on the first of every month we can all read something that gives us a gentle reminder…….

Imagine if you lost everything that you ever had…..everything???
You are left alone, no family, with only the clothes on your back. Ponder this thought for just 30 seconds…….

A scary thought and one that we would not like to dwell on….but imagine that a day after losing it all you were magically granted one wish to return it all……….Of course you take it ALL back in a heartbeat and accept it all so gratefully.   You would be so thankful for every single thing you got back… would feel like the luckiest person in the world.  Guess what???….you don’t have to lose it all to remind yourself how lucky you are for what you have……………We need to remember on a daily basis to cherish everything we have.  Our lives are blessed, even if everything is not going perfectly, we are still lucky to be alive, to have a
home, to have loved ones, to have freedom……………Let’s all remember this and be truly thankful for our life and everything in it…..

“In daily life we must see that it is not happiness that makes us grateful,
but gratefulness that makes us happy.”
Brother David Steindl-Rast Austrian-American Author and Benedictine Monk

  1. I am truly grateful everyday for my FREEDOM.

  2. Freedom, is something that we really don’t think about alot, but a quick google search tells me that there are over 30 countries still under dictatorship and over 30 countries in conflict or war as I type. Freedom is something that we should, like Kakadoo, be grateful for everyday. This is not to even mention the millions of refugees, displaced people, and victims of massive natural disasters who are not free and not able to make simple choices like when and what to eat, what to wear, where to live or even if they are able to have an education. We definitely are fortunate to be living in the “lucky country” and to be able to make many choices on a daily basis. Let us not forget this, and as we remember, hopefully it will help us to put our issues into perspective.
