Are you a glass half full or half empty person???
Do you wake up and start the day on a downward spiral:………the weathers crap; I haven’t had enough sleep; my toast is burnt; the traffic is bad; there is that annoying colleague that I have to deal with……….and so on and so on.
Or do you start the day planning for it to be a great day……I am glad
that I am healthy, I am glad I have two healthy kids to get brekky for, I love
listening to my favourite CD on the drive to work, I am grateful to have a job, etc. It is very easy to be negative but it is way more fun and satisfying to
be positive. Now some days you really do have to scrape the bottom of the
barrel to find things to be happy about…I get that…but you know
what…there ARE ALWAYS things to be grateful for. Let’s face it being positive
makes us happier and healthier and being negative puts us in a crap mood and
literally affects our health…….I sure as heck know which one I’d
rather….SO cheers to our half full glasses and let’s all make this month a
full glass month! Every time you feel yourself going on the downward spiral,
STOP, and think of 5 things that you are grateful for. Let us know how you go???????
Hi bloggers, The first day of a new month, the first day of a new life, the first day of a new attitude – so much promise and potential as each day dawns or as I have often said and heard said “Any day above ground is a good day”! Being thankful sure is a great way to make ourselves happy. I once read something which goes like this…I am grateful for my mortgage because it means I have somewhere to live, I am grateful for dirty dishes because it means I have food to eat, I am grateful for picking up toys because it means I have children around and so on – you get the idea…thinking about how many wonderful things we have to be grateful for because we truly do have a lot……Yep, today the sun is shining, I am alive, I am free, I am healthy and I am happy – I’m also tired because I have been enjoying too much of the good life of late so the best thing for me tonight will be early to bed!……so here’s cheers from me for a glass 1/2 full day every day 🙂
I am hearing you Kakadoo! Today is a good day. A sunny day spent with friends and a public holiday all rolled into one….. I too am a little tired after this long weekend….so as I pop myself into bed in about 5 minutes I shall think of ten things I am grateful for to unwind and set myself to sleep. I have a sneeky suspicion that I might be asleep by about grateful thing number 7. Goodnight and I hope you and all our fellow bloggers have a good week.
I’m definately a glass half full girl!!! I sometimes feel guilty for all the great things I have in my life! I had the best holiday and long weekend catching up with great friends and now back at work in a job that I love, in a house with my family and I dog that keeps me busy!! My cupeth over floweth 🙂
Hey Lizzie, I don;t think that your a glass half full girl….I think that you are a full to the top glass!!!!!! Being grateful is one sure way to happiness….keep it up!
