What is your relationship with “Change” like? Do you invite it into your life and look at it as a fresh start or do you fear it and do everything in your power to avoid it? Do you recognise aspects of your life that need change or do you just hope that if you keep doing the same thing that somehow, miraculously, things will just get better? Well I am here to tell you that life will not change unless you start the ball rolling. For things to change, we must change. “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results” – Albert Einstein
You cannot lose weight by continuing doing what you are doing now. You cannot get fitter without exercising. You cannot save money by continuing to spend. You cannot get happier at work by continuing on the same path that you are on now. You cannot get to know your true self without asking some insightful questions of yourself and being willing to take action. You cannot be happier doing the same old thing that you do when you are dejected, down and unhappy. You must see what needs to be changed, you must face it and you must make changes. Be honest with yourself, what are doing that is not working? Are you happy with where you are going? Are you being true to yourself? Why do you continue down this path? Why do you keep making excuses? Why are you avoiding change? What is your biggest obstacle to change? Let me take a guess: fear of failure, fear of success, fear of being unpopular, laziness and so on…you get my drift? The biggest enemy to change is fear. It is impossible to move forward when you are standing still. It is impossible to be happier when you are not willing to make sacrifices or alter what you do now. For things to change, we must change. How can you expect doors to open for you when you are too afraid to even open them? How can you expect a new life when you are gripping on for dear life to the old one?
*Sometimes we stare so long at a door that is closing that we see too late the one that is open.- Alexander Graham Bell

*After you’ve done a thing the same way for two years, look it over carefully. After five years, look at it with suspicion. And after ten years, throw it away and start all over. ~Alfred Edward Perlman, New York Times, 3 July 1958
