Do you treat others how you like to be treated?

I love it when we get along!

I love it when we get along!

One of my favourite sayings is “Treat others how you would like to be treated”. If more people lived by this motto than undoubtedly the world would be a much happier place. People would certainly be way more pleasant and far more enjoyable to be around. Do you honestly, treat others how you wish to be treated?
Surely no one could say that they treat people impolitely because they like to be treated that way???? So why do people seem to think that it is okay to expect: respect; friendliness; understanding and acceptance but on the same hand, think it is okay to dish out: disrespect; meanness and downright, rudeness????
I have a challenge for us this week……pay attention to your every interaction with every person you come across this week. Try your hardest to treat everyone that crosses your path, in a way that you, truly, would like to be treated. Whether it be a supermarket attendant, a colleague, a family member, a neighbour, a person you dislike or a complete stranger. Whether you are in a hurry, stressed, in your own world or really busy …………..treat them with respect, kindness and friendliness and see what happens. Pay attention to your interactions with others and see how you fair. Be honest here, it is very easy to think that you are being nice when in fact, you may actually come across as disinterested, aloof or just plain rude. If we truly treat others how we wish to be treated, than surely the results can only be positive?
I think that we are all guilty, even the kindest of those amongst us, to be a little abrupt, rushed, unaware or rude with those that we deal with from time to time. I strongly believe that the world would be a happier place if more people lived by the motto and actually treated others how they would like to be treated.
Have a great week and please, let me know how you go?? I would love to hear from you and to hear about your experiences?????
