Why are we here?

I am here to eat leaves, sleep and be happy! Why are you here?

To love, learn, love yourself and to live…………..

Love: I truly believe we are here to love. One of the hardest lessons is to choose love over fear, but I truly believe that this is one of the most valuable lessons we need to learn. “Where there is love there is life” Mahatma Gandhi

Learn: We are here to learn and to teach. As we age and grow life presents us with lessons and we can choose to embrace them and grow or be given the lesson at a later date when we are more open to them. Lesson comes in ages and stages…we can’t tie our shoelaces as a 1 year old and we can’t understand unconditional love as a 16 year old, hormone driven teenager. We need to try to be open to learning and treat each opportunity as a lesson to be learned. “Worrying doesn’t take away tomorrows troubles, it takes away today’s peace” Unknown

Like/love yourself: Who are you, what do you love and do you treat yourself as you would treat a best friend? We are all unique creatures. We all have our positive attributes and we are all flawed, but at the end of the day we are exclusively ourselves. Be yourself, learn who you are, do what you love and treat yourself with love and compassion.  The trick to this lesson is to remember that it is twofold…we need to understand that this relates to everyone else too. Let others be their own unique selves….others will be different to you, they have their own exclusive lives to live and this is okay. We need to focus on our own lives and embrace others who are trying their best to live theirs too. “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do and liking how you do it” Maya Angelou

Live: As we age, sadly, the reality that life can be shorter than we expect rings true. Are you living life? Are you doing things that you love? Are you spending time with people that you love? Are you spending time in places that make you feel at home? Are you grateful? Are you happy?  “Love the life you live. Live the life you love” Bob Marley

  1. Well said. Each point is as important as the one before.

  2. Wonderful post, Michelle. To love, learn and really enjoy your life and do a little good along the way. That is what we’re here to do. Sometimes we get out of balance and forget all of this and wonder what it’s all about and why we’re here. Thank you for the reminder 🙂

We'd love to hear from you...Please leave a comment..
