What is happiness to you? Would you say that you are happy now or are you waiting for “something” to happen to make you happy? Will a new job, a move, a new car, meeting someone special or more money make you happy? Is happiness at the end of the legendary rainbow or is it something that you have within you right now? Continue reading
Do you live your life as if it were a “to do list”? Do you race through ticking off events/milestones/chores/occasions as if they were jobs completed off your list? Going from one event to the next, ticking it off and moving onto the next without savouring and finding joy along the way? OR Do you take time to stop and smell the roses? Do you enjoy each moment for what it is or are you a little guilty of moving from one event to the next without appreciating the in between times? Why not be grateful for every moment, why not live for the now and enjoy the journey to the destination as well as loving the destination when you get there? Continue reading
Imagine that you had a second chance at life? Imagine that you truly believed that the world was going to end but then woke up to a new day and realised that your life had just begun? Would you feel/act or think differently? Would you want to grab life by the horns and give it a red hot go? Continue reading
Every time I find myself in a bit of a rut, low spot, and negativity is seeping in, I come to the realisation that I am losing touch with my gratefulness. I start looking at moments of the day, people I come across and situations from a negative standpoint. It really brings me down. I have to slap myself, pull up my socks and start looking at things from a positive light. It is so easy to get into a negative frame of mind but is so much more pleasing, happier and positive to be grateful, optimistic and loving life. Continue reading
What do you take for granted? Come on we all do it and may I suggest that we do it on a daily basis. Could it be: that you have a home; the fact that you have a job; a car to get to your job; the fact that you can speak your mind; that you have people in your life that care or even the simple fact that you can have 3 meals a day? Are you grateful every day for your health? Think back to a time when you had nasty flu or gastro? Do you remember how grateful you were when you finally recovered? Continue reading
Well another month has gone by, hope yours was happy. It is time again for our first of the month reality check.
This month we are taking a look at the theory that “what you focus on grows”. If we think constantly about lack of money, then we attract a lack of money. If we spend a lot of time thinking negatively, we will feel negative and negative situations will follow.Have a think about the week that has just gone by…..what did the bulk of your energy and focus go to? What issues were you thinking about? Did you have concerns that were always in the back of your mind?
oops I am 5 days late…..gee time does fly! Here are 6 quotes that help me remember to be grateful……Hope you like them too?? Continue reading
I stayed up way too late the other night listening to an Australia Day speech by leading Australian Neuro surgeon Charles Teo……I have seen him interviewed before and found him to be an extremely, interesting and inspiring man. He is the man who people with brain cancer, who have been told that there is nothing that can be done, go to. Somehow he seems to be able to perform genius miracles and save lives that no one dared to. He has been controversial in Australia because he dares to speak up; challenge his colleagues and demand excellence. Continue reading
Happy Australia Day!!! Whilst I am immensely proud to be an Australian I must blush and admit that I have no idea why we are all so lucky as to have a public holiday on the 26th of January every year and celebrate “Australia Day”. A quick little poll around my office, sadly suggests that I am not alone in my lack of history knowledge. Most of us all just enjoy a day off work to watch the cricket, go to the beach or attend a backyard BBQ with friends……. SO what is Australia Day all about?????? Continue reading
Happy 2012 and Happy first of the month reality check time…….For my New Years Resolution I have chosen one theme for the year……………..GRATITUDE! I have discovered that I am happiest when I am truly grateful and that I am unhappiest when I lose sight of this. So everyday I shall be grateful; when I am sad, I shall be grateful; when I want more, I shall be grateful and most importantly when any negativity creeps in, I shall be grateful. Being truly grateful, not just saying it…but really feeling it, can lighten any aspect of life.
I love this quote below…..It says it all…… Continue reading
