thinking chimp Penny for your thoughts…….

We all know the saying “you are what you eat”… (Not that most of us actually live by it) but we have all heard it. Well, there is a saying that I think we should probably pay even more attention to…”You are what you think”.

Our thoughts are constant; our inner voice is like a playlist on repeat. It is the voice that we will hear more than any other throughout our entire lives. Let me ask you this….would you want to spend time with someone that puts you down, or someone that second guesses your every move and doubts your every decision?

Who is your best friend????

happyasapiginmud

They do say that I AM man's best friend...can I be your best friend??

Who is your best friend?  Who can you confide in 24/7?  Who is always there for you?  Who can you always count on, guaranteed, from today until the day you die? Who REALLY knows what you think…even your inner most private thoughts?  Who will be there for you in good/bad…in sickness and in health?  Who will still be your friend even if you have done things you are not proud of?  Who you ask???  Is a name coming to mind? Guess what? I know who can tick all of those boxes for you?……………………………………………..

Balance in challenging times

Tightrope gorilla

OOOOooo, this balancing thing is tricky!

Do you ever feel that walking through life is a bit like walking a tightrope? Some days go smoothly and some days you are gripping tightly onto the balance bar struggling to keep any stability at all. Continue reading

Don’t poop in your own nest

Was just about to reblog this one from 2012, when I noticed Tony had just made comment……Guess it is meant to be. Enjoy!

Hey be nice....we all have to live in here together! Hey be nice….we all have to live in here together!

Have you ever heard of that saying “Don’t sh%t (poop) in your own nest”? To me it means that we should try not to ” do the dirty/betray/be negative” to those around us. We need to mindful of our relationships, in particular our actions and reactions to situations and try to maintain a respectful approach. Remember “treat others as you want to be treated”. Now I am far from perfect and have teenagers, so believe me I know that being calm and nice is not always possible but for the sake of this post I am actually thinking about work relationships……..

Do you let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy????

I heard the Eagles song today, “Take it easy” and it reminded me that it had prompted me to write a post several years ago….It is still a issue that I am constantly working on. Thought I would share it with you.

I am always worrying about things...it make my head ache! I am always worrying about things…it make my head ache!

When you are going about your normal day, what is your mind doing? Is it with you or is it against you? I don’t know about you but my mind is constantly chatting. The only time it is not is when: I am asleep; I am really focused on a task or when I am listening to others. The rest of the time my mind is tuned into “my own internal chatter station”. I tell you it is one busy station. My issue is, that I have come to realize that a large portion of “my chatter station time” is spent worrying/concerned and just plain overthinking. I can go for hours worrying about a friend’s problem, a family member’s situation, how to fit too much in to my day/week, work issues etc…….I have realized that I am creating my own…

Yahoo look how balanced I am???

I truly believe that one of the key lessons in life is balance. Having balance in our life improves our happiness.

Think about those times when you are stressed or feeling down and I bet that you’re juggling too many things. You know that feeling of being overwhelmed, can’t keep up, over stretched and simply not coping with all that life is asking of you. Continue reading

Is there a formula to happiness?

How dare you say that I am angry!

Happy?? I’m not happy!

Well happiness is not the same for everyone, because luckily we are all different. The one thing I know is that happiness is not handed to us on a plate. It is something that we must work on from within and on a daily basis to achieve. Continue reading

Change is not a dirty word…..

I see myself as a duck but my friends say that I act like a goose

I want to be bigger and stronger

Did you make any New Year’s resolutions? If you did, I am gathering that all of them would be leading you in the same direction or toward the same goal……to be happier in some way? If you didn’t, I am guessing it is not because you think that your life is perfect? In the search for contentment we normally focus on what makes us happy because as we all know what we focus on grows, so it makes perfect sense to focus on the positive in our lives.  Today I have a little challenge for you and it will be to look at your life a little differently………………. Stress less…..enjoy more!

A hot bath always relaxes me!

A hot bath always relaxes me!

Stress is sadly a daily occurrence for many of us. Whether we create our own worry or have stress thrust upon us, we all know that it is not healthy or productive. Not only does it impair our immune system, affects our mood, upsets our relationships, bring us down, affects our health and overall well-being but it is proven to reduce our life span. It is ironic that given what we know about stress that we seem to do very little to reduce it. This brings me to this week’s topic…What can you do to reduce stress in your daily life?
We all know that when we are free of or have greatly reduced stress levels that we are happier and healthier. Life seems to bubble along smoothly, we cope well, we are in good health and we are more enjoyable to be around. Continue reading
