Rules or roadblocks?

Happy chameleon

I have no rules, I change to what ever I like whenever I like. I am happy as a pig in mud (or a chameleon in the garden).

Do you have rules for yourself or for others that dont do you or them any justice? Do these rules sometimes give you grief and make you judgmental, critical and down right hard to please? Continue reading

You are what you think………..

Penny for your thoughts…….

We all know the saying “you are what you eat”… (Not that most of us actually live by it) but we have all heard it. Well, there is a saying that I think we should probably pay even more attention to…”You are what you think”.

Our thoughts are constant; our inner voice is like a playlist on repeat. It is the voice that we will hear more than any other throughout our entire lives. Let me ask you this….would you want to spend time with someone that puts you down, or someone that second guesses your every move and doubts your every decision? Continue reading

Change…….

Who says a leopard can't change their spots?

Who says a leopard can’t change their spots?

What is your relationship with “Change” like? Do you invite it into your life and look at it as a fresh start or do you fear it and do everything in your power to avoid it? Do you recognise aspects of your life that need change or do you just hope that if you keep doing the same thing that somehow, miraculously, things will just get better? Well I am here to tell you that life will not change unless you start the ball rolling. For things to change, we must change. “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results” – Albert Einstein Continue reading

Do you like yourself?

success-is-liking-yourself-liking-what-you-do-and-liking-how-you-do-it1
Do you try to be the best you can be?….Now, when I ask if you try to be your best, I don’t mean do you try to be the best at everything, I mean do you make a conscious effort to work on those negatives and enhance your positives? Do you believe that personal growth and change is possible and something that you actually have some control over? OR are you from the “I am what I am, take it or leave it, like me warts and all or rack off” camp? Now I firmly believe that others shouldn’t try to make us change just to suit their rules but I also believe that we should strive to bring out our best………. Famous American, poet, author Maya Angelou makes a very poignant point when she made the following quote “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it”…with this in mind are you successful? Time for our first of the month reality check! A time where we take stock and be a little reflective…..

Ever heard that saying  “A change is as good as a holiday”?  Well I am a firm believer in this one.  I just came to the realisation that I have been doing a bit of Spring cleaning in my life lately and really enjoying the changes.   We can definitely improve our happiness by making a few changes in our life. We all have those annoying, niggly things in life that bother us, so why not change some of them, if you can? What can you change to make life a little smoother, less stressful, less annoying and more enjoyable? Continue reading

Where is the real me???

Where is the real me??

Where is the real me??

At some stage in our life most of us will feel the need to rediscover who we really are.  We feel a little lost and unsure of what our true self is and what we really want from life. To me, this is only natural as we spend so many years pleasing others and conforming out of necessity. Then, at some point we wake up and we say to ourselves “Who is the real me, what do I really like, what are my goals, and where do I see myself in years to come?” The journey to find our true selves is by no means an easy feat……..we have spent so many years conforming and compromising that this challenge is a hard nut to crack.
