Let’s face it – 2020- 21 has not been easy. In such difficult and everchanging times it can be hard to stay positive and even harder to feel happy. All studies show the more resilient you can be the more likely you are to adapt and be able to cope with day-to-day challenges.
The road to happiness is not a one size fits all, do one magical thing and you get to live happily ever after. I like to think of it like a jigsaw puzzle with many pieces required to make your happy picture make sense. Like jigsaw puzzles it will take time, effort and commitment to make it all come together. So where do we start?
Well happiness is not the same for everyone, because luckily we are all different. The one thing I know is that happiness is not handed to us on a plate. It is something that we must work on from within and on a daily basis to achieve. Continue reading →
Do you find forgiving others a real struggle?? Is resentment affecting you or holding you back? Is there any bitterness or anger from past issues that could be affecting your health or happiness? Do you think that forgiving others is a sign of weakness, backing down, letting others win, giving others power or accepting what they have done as okay? If we think in these ways then forgiveness can be near on impossible. So what can we do to help?? Continue reading →
What makes you say I looked stressed?I am perfectly fine!
Do you unintentionally invite stress into your life? Do you go about your day totally unaware of the stresses/tensions that surround you? Are there areas of your life where frustrations are a daily occurrence, when they really don’t need to be? Maybe you don’t even realize that the strain is there or that you are being affected? We know that stress and especially continual stress can cause illness and unhappiness, so doesn’t it make sense to try to eliminate as much stress as we possibly can? Let’s take a typical day and see where stresses may be bubbling along under the surface. Continue reading →
Wow! An entire month has passed between posts. I have been so busy and had not even realised…….Well it is 1st of the month reality check time again! This month I would like to remind us all of how powerful our mind and our thoughts can be. The thoughts we have can be like a supportive friend or an unhelpful foe. Our thoughts can keep us strong, get us through or keep us down and allow negativity to seep in. What sort of state is your mind in at the moment?? Continue reading →
Following on from our “Law of Attraction” lessons, I thought that the following scenarios might help us to better understand this theory and it’s complexities. The law of attraction is not easy to understand and really involves us knowing what we really FEEL!, deep down. How we feel is so much more important than what we say and even what we do. Our true feelings will alter the course of our lives, what we achieve, our relationships, our highs and our lows……….. Continue reading →
This lesson is such a hard one to learn…I will have to keep reading!
For this months reality check, I have decided to look at “The law of attraction”. It is a difficult lesson to learn, but sometimes the hardest of lessons to learn are the most valuable…………..
Sometimes life lessons show up in places you would never expect……would you think that your kids weekly school newsletter would make a lesson you have been trying to grasp but still can’t get, clearer?????????????? I wouldn’t. In a recent newsletter the Principal wrote about the law of attraction…………basically in a nutshell it says that what you have in life you have attracted. This is by no means a new law or concept but it is one that we/I seem not to grasp. Continue reading →
Following on from our Random Acts of kindness post,(see under Health and Well Being Heading dated 12 Aug 2011 ), another shopping experience made me think of a new post. I bought some milk and a bunch of scourers, (exciting shopping, I know) and when asked would you like a bag I said “No thank you, I shall just carry these”…………walking out of the shop juggling my shopping with my purse I felt a sense of “goodness” come over me as I had done the “right thing” and did not waste a plastic bag. It made me think how it definitely feels good to do the “Right thing”. Continue reading →
