What is your greatest asset?

I choose to think positive, I choose to think positive...Ummmm

I choose to think positive, I choose to think positive…Ummmm

When you have a problem what is your greatest asset?  Could it be a loved one, a friend, your faith or maybe even in a book?  Just lately it has become very apparent to me that our greatest asset is very close to each and every one of us, we all have this help within our reach and we can reach it 24/7. So what is it you ask? Continue reading

Gratefulness equals happiness

Im grateful for my buddy!

Im grateful for my buddy!

What is happiness to you? Would you say that you are happy now or are you waiting for “something” to happen to make you happy? Will a new job, a move, a new car, meeting someone special or more money make you happy? Is happiness at the end of the legendary rainbow or is it something that you have within you right now? Negativity

What's wrong with being negative....I am fine!

What’s wrong with being negative….I am fine!

Negativity can be poisonous and stressful. Think of having pessimistic thoughts or using destructive words as filling yourself up with poisons. When you are having a bad day and being negative think of that as pouring toxins into your body. Each thought or word is like a cup of toxin entering your body, affecting your health, your immunity and changing your entire outlook. It can be contagious and doesn’t do anyone any favours. Negativity can seem to take on a life of its own and it is very draining. Imagine being in a conversation with someone who is focusing only on gloom and doom, we have all been there and it is not pleasant. So what can we do to change, to be more positive and to be more pleasant to be around? Continue reading

Where are you on the positivity scale???

Sometimes being positive is hard work.

Sometimes being positive is hard work.

If there was such a thing as a positivity scale, where do you honestly think that you would sit on it?
Let’s pretend that 1 is mainly negative, and 10 is super positive. Now when I talk about this scale I am thinking about you as a complete package, I am talking about your thoughts, your words and your actions. Continue reading

Do you protect yourself???

Not too many people mess around with me. You get my point!

Not too many people mess around with me. You get my point!

Well we are just coming through a nasty flu season and touch wood; thus far I have managed to fend off the persistent germs.  I have felt the flu trying to invade but have managed to ward  off any illness. The flu has gone through my work, my hubby’s work and my kid’s school like a tornado, not leaving many free from its clutches.  I have consciously made an effort to protect myself and my health.  I have taken Echinacea tablets, rested, eaten really well and looked after myself and thankfully my efforts have paid off. Now I know that this does not always work but I think I definitely gave myself the best shot of fending off these little nasties.  Did you know that we can do this in other areas of our life and not just our health? What have you been focussing on??? 1st of the month reality check.

So if I focus on this chicken it will grow??????

So if I focus on this chicken it will grow??????

Well another month has gone by, hope yours was happy. It is time again for our first of the month reality check.

This month we are taking a look at the theory that “what you focus on grows”. If we think constantly about lack of money, then we attract a lack of money. If we spend a lot of time thinking negatively, we will feel negative and negative situations will follow.Have a think about the week that has just gone by…..what did the bulk of your energy and focus go to? What issues were you thinking about? Did you have concerns that were always in the back of your mind?

1st of the month reality check: What is your story?

Crazy drivers.....am I the only one who can drive around here??

Crazy drivers.....am I the only one who can drive around here??

Do you have a story? Do you tell your story to anyone that will listen…over and over? Could you be slightly annoying to those that come in contact with you? It may be…..My life is full of problems story, things that make me angry story, my annoying family story, I am toooooooo busy story, how annoying everyone else is story, my horrible job story?….you get the drift.  Do you replay the same old problems over and over in your mind or even worse…… to anyone you come across? Are you like a broken record? Telling your story over and over.  Do people see you coming and run the other way? Under their breath are they saying “Here we go again….we have to listen to this AGAIN” Continue reading

Gratitude……it’s catchy

Be grateful

It is very hard to be cranky when you are being grateful.

I know some days looking for things to be grateful about is harder than others but as long as you are alive, there are always many things to be grateful for.

Make a list of everything you are grateful for and I mean everything…..you may not think there is much but once you get in the swing of it you will not be able to stop.  It is a great way to shift you from negativity to positivity. If you do it daily it becomes a habit.  When you are driving.  When you wake up.  When you go to sleep….whenever it suits
you. If you are feeling a bit flat or even totally crap this can really change your mood.

Some people like to write things down, some like to think of 10 things at a time……what works for you??????

If you are cranky with a loved one, instead of making the mental list of “Things that you do to annoy me most “….(come on admit it we have all done that list in our head), try changing it to “Okay you can be annoying but I am grateful to you for” ………..and list as many things as you can.  I promise it will soothe you and shift your focus.

Why not try every night before falling asleep thinking about 10 things that you were thankful for that day……..try and make them different everynight.

Let me know how you are going?
